Flora "Alice" Colebank was born March 19, 1904 to
parents Elsworth Thornton and Hannah Stewart
Colebank. She grew up on the family farm near
Knottsville, West Virginia. She married Percy Dadisman
on August 17, 1922.  During WWI, Percy, a United States
Marine, was gassed in the trenches of France with
mustard gas. His lungs were damaged by the exposure
to the gas. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis in 1929
and sent to the VA Hospital in Tucson. Some time later
Alice and the children moved to Tucson in a Model A
Ford to join him. Percy would gargle with Listerine so
that he could kiss the children and Alice, not realizing
that it didn't render the TB non-contagious. Alice
contracted TB from Percy and had "arrested
tuberculosis." Her lungs were damaged and she died
from emphysema, even though she had never been a
smoker. Percy died in 1939. Alice then married James
Nicholas Langan on July 29, 1944 in Tucson, Arizona. He
was a sweet man and Alice's children called him "Pappy
Jim." James and Alice ran a restaurant in Tucson for
many years until he became too ill to work. James died
of cancer in 1959.  When Alice buried James, she didn't
want to leave Percy alone in the veterans cemetery
where he was buried in 1939. She bought the plot
adjoining her and James in Evergreen Memorial Park in
Tucson and had Percy moved so she would be buried
between her two husbands when her time came. Alice
died August 28, 1985 in Tucson.
