Samuel Colebank was born about 1726 in the Lake District of Cumbria, England,
probably in Gosforth, Nether Wasdale near Lake Windermere.  He and his wife Sarah,
born about 1730, came to America from England  in June, 1750 by way of Halifax, Nova
Scotia.  They ended up in Alexandria, Virginia across the Potomac from Washington D.C.

                                          PETER COLEBANK
Samuel and Sarah had a son, Peter, about 1752 either in Halifax, Nova Scotia or in
Fairfax County, Virginia.  Peter was the first Colebank born in America and is the
forefather of all the Colebanks in the United States.  He likely grew up in Fairfax County
Peter died about 1815 in Monongahela County, Virginia and is buried in Forks of Cheat
Baptist Cemetery, near Port Marion, Pennsylvania.  
                                          JAMES COLEBANK
Peter and Sarah had a son, James (Jamie), born in 1794 in Virginia.  Jamie married
Mary Goodwin before 1813.  She was born June 25, 1794 in Scotland, and died
February 19, 1861. Jamie died November 22, 1867 and is buried in Eden Methodist
Church Cemetery., Stewartstown, Mongahela County, West Virginia.  There is still a
West Virginia branch of Colebanks.  
                                          DAVID COLEBANK
James and Mary had a son named James David born April 12, 1827 in Monongahela
County, West Virginia.  James died January 22, 1875 in Onarga, Illinois and is buried
in Onarga Cemetery, Iroquois County, Illinois.  James David Colebank married Mary
Morris March 22, 1849 in Monongahela County, West Virginia.  Mary was the daughter
of Griffith Morris and Hannah Springer, born July 2, 1820 in Fayette County,
Pennsylvania.  When Mary died in 1863, James married (Elizabeth) Caroline Hess.  
                                     L.S. COLEBANK
James and Mary's son L. S. Colebank was born in December 18, 1852 in Madelia,
Watonwan County, Minnesota.  L.S. married Martha McIndoo, born April 12, 1867 in
Illinois, on April 12, 1882 in Iroquois, Illinois.  L.S. and Martha are buried in Riverside
Cemetery, Madelia, Minnesota.
                                LESTER COLEBANK
They had a son named Lester, born January 15, 1894 in Illinois.  He married Linda
Linda had three children:  Warren, June and Victoria.  Daughter June was born on
January 29, 1926 near Fertile, Minnesota.  She married Bob Blanshan on August 20,
1947 in Madelia, MN.*
                        MARTHA MCINDOO COLEBANK
John McIndoo came to America from Scotland, landing in Pennsylvania.  John
married Charity Heady in 1785 and they had one child Jacob.  John was killed by
the Indians in KY in 1787.  Jacob married Margaret McDowell in 1806.  They had a
son Milton in 1817 who married Sarah Perry in 1842.  They had a son John Milton in
1843 in Columbus, Indiana.  He married Elizabeth Caroline Cunningham in 1864.
They had a daughter Martha Jane in 1867.  Martha Jane married L.S. Colebank in
                             LINDA NASMAN COLEBANK
Nils Nasman was born in Sweden about 1800.  His wife's name was unknown.  
They had a son named Per Nilsson Nasman in 1830.  He married Kjersti
Larsdotter.  They had a son named Nils Per Nasman born July 10, 1865 in
Lovestad, Sweden.  Nils came to America in 1880.  He married Anna Greta
Nelsdotter who was born in 1862 near Eslov, Branstads Forsamling Parish, Skane,
Sweden to Nels and Anna Paulsdotter Olson.  Anna Greta came to America in 1886
where she met Nils Per Nasman.  They had a daughter Linda and twin Esther born
June 28, 1894 near Darfur, MN.  Linda married Lester Colebank on March 19. 1921
in St. James, Minnesota  Her twin Esther married Lester's cousin, Robert
